Sephora & Walmart Collective Haul

Don't forget to enter my blog giveaway! Click here to enter now! Open until January 25, 2012.

Been on a "lip" kick lately. I've been buying a lot lip products for some reason? If you know me, my lipstick stash is probably 90% of MAC products. I started out with that brand when I first got into makeup so I've collected a hefty amount of EVERYTHING from MAC. So I want to venture out into different brands, both high end & drugstore. I wanted a YSL lipstick for the longest & I finally bought one. These babies are $34 each. OMG! I swear it's worth it though. Their lipsticks are highly pigmented, moisturizing & creamy. I used it to work the other day & got tons of compliments on it. I actually sold a few of YSL lipsticks that day =)

I'll say this again...pictures don't do these lipsticks justice. The colors in the pictures are not true to color. Kat Von D's Adora lipstick has a metallic finish to it which makes the color even more gorgeous than it really is.

I've also been a hunt on a holy grail mascara. I currently use Maybelline's Falsies mascara but I'm getting tired of it. It's an 'okay' mascara but I want something along the lines of BAD ASS. My lashes are fairly difficult to please. I need waterproof formula to hold my curl. I just want a mascara that'll give me crazy amount of volume & length. Any suggestions?

I've been wanting Benefit's They're Real! mascara for the longest. I sell these bad boys like hot cakes at work. It's not a waterproof formula so I was kind of skeptical to buy it but when I tried it in store, I fell in love. I brought it home & it was a different story. It clumped like crazy & it weighed my lashes down after applying 2 coats :( I'm so jealous of every single girl that had this mascara deliver nothing but spectacular results for them. This mascara would have been perfect for me if only it worked out.

I received over 10 mascara's as gratis & I gave them all away because they weren't waterproof. I received some of the best mascaras sold at Sephora from brands like Makeup Forever, Fresh, Benefit, Dior, etc. The latest one that I just got for gratis is the YSL Shocking mascara. Gonna give it a try & see what happens. It's not waterproof *gasps*

My co-worker rocks purple lips to work & she looks damn near amazing! So I thought I would give it a try. Purple lips is something out of the ordinary for me but I feel that's what makeup is all about. Dare to wear something you're not comfortable with. You'll never know, it might just suit you. So instead of rocking a red lip on Christmas Eve I'll be doing things different & rocking purple. I will post pictures of course =)

And it's back to my old roots of mascara for the time being. Cover Girl's lash blast has been fairly nice to me over the years so I thought it was time to re-visit =)

Sephora prices:
Kat Von D Adora lipstick $18
YSL Rouge Volupte Forbidden Burgundy lipstick $34
Sephora Instant Depuffing Roll On Gel $15
Benefit They're Real! Mascara $22
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! Mascara Duo $10 (sale)

Walmart prices:
Cover Girl Lash Blast Mascara $7+
Cover Girl Embrace lipstick $5.74
Cover Girl Divine lipstick $5.74
Maybelline Lash Stiletto Liquid Liner $5+

Jadelyn got a gift!

Don't forget to enter my blog giveaway! Click here to enter now! Open until January 25, 2012.

One of the coolest things I love about blogging is meeting people from all across the world who share the same passion in beauty & makeup like I do. A few months back I met Jen. I followed her blog because it was a beauty blog & on top of that, she was expecting. She has been blogging about her journey through pregnancy, which is incredible might I add. She has a miracle baby boy growing inside of her. Follow her blog. You will not regret it :)

Jen is definitely one of the sweetest girls I've met! She's so adorable & gorgeous rockin' that baby bump. Anyway, she was kind enough to send Jadelyn a box full of goodies. I'm telling you, this baby girl is going to be one spoiled little diva! I already know it.

She also sent me some chocolate goodies which is not pictured because once I seen it in the box I just opened them & started eating away LOL. Fatty status, I know. But it's chocolate! Who can resist?!

And would you look at all that pink we have going on here? OMG!! I'm just hoping the doctor did not make a mistake on the sex of our baby HAHAHAHAHA. I can't wait for Jadelyn to use all this girly stuff. I will post pictures for sure!

Everything was wrapped with gift wrapping paper & as I start opening them Pat says "shouldn't you wait until Christmas?" And I'm like "This isn't for me. It's for Jadelyn & she won't be here to open it so I'll just open them now." LOL. Oh the excitement.

Thanks again Jen for everything! You are truly an amazing person. I loved everything, seriously. XOXO!

Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year!

Last week Pat's sister in law, Mariah shot our Christmas photos. I was excited to do a photoshoot because it's been a while since we've done one as a family. Belle was included in the photos too which was super cute! She was not the best at posing but atleast we got a few pics of her looking at the camera. It was a really windy day but we all had fun. You can tell it was windy because my hair was all over the place hehe.

Mariah is an amazing photographer! If any of you are interested in her work, you can view her website at http://mariahmilan.com/blog. I can't wait for our pregnancy photoshoot that's coming up in the next month or so. Super duper excited!

Until my next post, may you all have a Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year! Stay safe during the holiday season. XOXO.

Pregnancy Update: 32 weeks

It has been sooo long since I've posted one of these pregnancy updates. Nothing new to be honest. I've been eating like crazy! I can't even do portion control. And when I crave something, I need to have it. With all those bad habits I packed on 21 pounds so far. Lately my cravings have been milk & cookies. I don't even care for milk & cookies and it's crazy how I have to have it. I also fell in love with beef curry. I HATE CURRY! Apparently now I looooove it. I've also lost some of my memory. I tend to forget things so easily & it frustrates me at times. I find myself writing notes or texting myself things just so I don't forget.

Jadelyn has been so active lately & I really love that. Whenever I try to show off her movements to anyone, she stops moving haha. But she has been letting Pat feel her kicks & he always gets a kick out of that. He told me the other night while I was asleep & my stomach was against his back, Jadelyn was kicking him so he couldn't go to bed HAHAHA. I thought that was cute.

Everyone is just excited for her arrival. My sister has already started her shoe collection haha. My sister bought her 3 pairs of shoes already. Talk about spoiled! I can't believe I have only 54 days left to go! Doesn't it feel like I just announced the "we're expecting" news?

So wanna see how much my belly has grown? I happen to think I'm HUGE while everyone tells me that I'm still tiny. What do you guys think?

Because he loves me HAUL

My Boyfriend was kind enough to take me on a little shopping spree about a week ago. He'll spoil me once in a while & I really appreciate a man who knows how to please their woman every so often. It was nice to be able to just throw things in my basket without having to worry about prices. I love him!

We spent all day together. We went Christmas shopping at the mall & the most exciting thing we did there was look around for engagement rings! We're not in a rush to be engaged or get married but I wanted him to have an idea of what style of ring I wanted just incase he was to pop the question anytime in the future. We're approaching our 9th year anniversary in April & with everything that has happened throughout the 9 years, I can't believe we fought through it all. I could've swore there were times I was sure we wouldn't make it but I'm glad we've made it this far. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Next stop was at Sephora :) We went there to get some Nars stuff & do a little Christmas shopping for some family members. I've had my eye on Nars blushes for a while now but with each blush carrying a fine tune of $27 each, I just couldn't bring myself to buy one haha. But with my discount it did make them so much more affordable so I finally caved in & bought 5. I want Exhibit A & I'm definitely getting it. I just couldn't make up my mind in the store so I ended up not getting it. I also got my very first Nars single eyeshadow in Mekong. This color is GORGEOUS!! I can't wait for the holidays to be over so I can finally use this color to work.

Swatches from top to bottom:
Mekong e/s
Sin Blush
Love Joy Blush
Taos Blush
Amour Blush
Dolce Vita Blush

We also went to Pacsun & I found some cute booties which were soooo comfy that I had to get them. They were originally $39.50 but they were on sale for 40% off. Pat bought them for me :)

And last but not least, I picked these up. I thought they were super cute & they were such a steal at only $18.99! I really need to stop with this shoe shopping LOL. It kinda annoys me that I'm somewhat of a "neat" hoarder. I hoard shoes & makeup & my excuse? A girl can NEVER have too much shoes or makeup. I'm sure my daughter will be telling me the same in the near future.

REVIEW: Sephora Pro Foundation Airbrush #55

Product name: Sephora Pro Foundation Airbrush #55
Purchased at: Sephora stores or Sephora.com
Product price: $34

Product claims: Sephora Brand Professionnel Platinum Air Brush #55 is the secret to the smoothest foundation finish possible. This essential tool blends as it applies, allowing for a smooth, natural-looking result. Build from light to heavy with ease as you continue application—your results will be perfectly pretty at every level of coverage. This brush's synthetic Taklon hairs are perfect for creating optimal payoff with liquid foundation formulas. Their shape and high-grade nylon composition help to ensure a natural, smooth look.

Would I re-purchase? Yes.

Final thoughts: I don't use foundation all that much these days unless I need extreme coverage when I have random blemishes or breakouts. I usually just use my tinted moisturizer from Laura Mercier which is a phenomenal product, btw! Review for that here.

On days when I do use foundation though, I usually reach for my Maybelline Superstay or Makeup Forever HD Foundation. I have been using my MAC #187 brush for the longest to apply my foundation. I love the airbrush finish it gives. I have finally retired my #187 brush though because I found Sephora's Pro Foundation Airbrush #55. Let me tell you that this by far has been the best foundation brush I have used & I'm not saying that because I work for Sephora. I really love the finish that it gives. It really does deliver a flawless finish. It blends the foundation so good that it looks natural. Make sure to blend foundation using circular motions to avoid streaking.

I applied Makeup Forever HD Foundation with Sephora's Foundation Brush #55 in photo above.

REVIEW: Model 21 Lashes

Get 10% off your order by using promo code "allthingslisaaa". Code is valid from December 22 - 27, 2011.

Product name: Model 21 Lashes in 6T $7.95
Purchased at: Sent to me for review purposes by model 21 eyelashes
Product price: Varies on style of lashes

Product claims: Model 21 Eyelashes provide a selection of high quality false eyelashes with styles varying in unique density, length and width. Our clientele consists of various Make-Up Artists, Models, Photographers, Brides, Wedding Parties, Dancers and everyday women including Homemakers and Office Professionals. Natural false eyelashes are also great for those who have lost their own eyelashes due to health conditions and just about anyone else who simply wishes to enhance their beauty.

Would I re-purchase? Sent to me for review purposes by model 21 eyelashes

Final thoughts: When I first received the package in the mail & took the lashes out, my first thoughts were "holy cow, these lashes are massive!" From what I saw on the website, I thought the lashes were going to be a bit shorter & not as dramatic. Not that I'm complaining because I love dramatic lashes. However, I almost thought that I wasn't going to be able to use them because they just looked so...BIG haha.

I decided to use them to work the next day though & I'm glad I did. I ended up loving these lashes. Although the lashes are long, they don't seem to bother me. I love how comfortable they feel on my lashes. The bands are a bit thick which is something that I'm not used to BUT I love that they're thick because it's much easier to remove the lash glue. I love how these lashes just enhance any makeup look. The lashes are sturdy & wore great throughout the day. I took the pictures at the end of my work shift so please excuse the makeup haha.

My fave brand of lashes right now are from the brand Da Bes Kine. You can find it here in Hawaii. They're about $3.50 for a pair. I like them because they're made out of natural hair. But I am so careless with my lashes. I have to admit that I'm not the best at taking care of my falsies lol. So with that being said, instead of spending $3.50 on a pair of lashes, I can spend $7.95 + S&H and get a whole box of lashes. I think that's a steal. How can I refuse?

They also offer a buy 3 get 1 free deal. That's pretty self explanitory. Model 21 offers a variety of lashes that will suite your needs. Check out their website for pictures & prices.

Thank you again model 21 eyelashes for this opportunity! Head over to model 21 eyelashes to get your pair of false eye lashes today!

REVIEW: Fresh Sugar Fix Duo

Product name: Fresh Sugar Fix
Purchased at: Sephora stores or Sephora.com
Product price: $22.50

Product claims: The Mini Sugar Lip Polish from Fresh gently exfoliates and conditions, leaving lips incredibly soft and smooth. The Mini Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 nourishes, protects, and hydrates the lips while providing essential UV protection.

Would I re-purchase? Yes.

Final thoughts: Ever get chapped lips & can't find a solution for it? Well look no further. This duo comes with a mini lip exfoliator & a mini lip treatment. The lip treatment is amazing & so moisturizing! I always apply it at night before bed & when I wake up in the morning, my lips are still moisturized. I barely re-apply with this lip balm. The only time I do is after I eat something. Yes, it's that hydrating & long lasting! The Lip scrub is also amazing!! It sweeps away all that dead skin on the lips. I like to use this scrub right before I apply red lipstick to make sure that my lips are smooth. The lip treatment comes in 5 colors which look really pigmented in the tube but applies sheer. The full size lip treatment or lip polish runs for $22.50 each which is a bit on the pricier side for a lip balm but I say it's worth the money because it will last a while. I can't even begin to tell you how much of these I sell at work. Why? Because it works! I wouldn't recommend something to my clients if I don't love it myself. Try this products out. You will not be disappointed!

REVIEW: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil-Free SPF 20

Product name: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Oil-Free SPF 20 in Walnut
Purchased at: Sephora stores, Sephora.com
Product price: $42.00

Product claims: This lightweight foundation that can be reapplied as necessary, offers sun protection for sensitive or acne prone skin, oil control, and provides hydration to prevent dryness.

Would I re-purchase? Yes.

Final thoughts: I love this stuff & every client that I've put this product on has purchased it as well. It's so lightweight, gives awesome coverage & lasts all day & just blends into the skin so well. I always moisturize my face & use a primer whenever I apply any type of makeup product on my face. It's a given for me. So I recommend you do the same, especially if you have dry skin. I use Stila's color correcting primer to correct redness on my face around the nose & mouth area. I then dab the tinted moisturizer all over my face & blend with my fingers. I use Maybelline's Matte powder lightly just to set, mainly concentrating in my t-zone area because that's where I get oily. I've had clients who asked what kind of foundation I'm wearing when I use this product & some refuse to believe that it's just tinted moisturizer. Yes, it's that good. If you know how to apply it right, you'll definitely fall in love with this product like I did.

Because of this product's wonderful coverage, I no longer use concealer :D I'll use concealer only if I have a blemish to cover that the tinted moisturizer couldn't cover. I also don't wear foundation on a daily basis because of this. Oh how I love Laura Mercier! Photo taken in natural sunlight.

Wet n' Wild I ♥ Matte Palette + Swatches!

Look at what I found at the drugstore! I was surprised to see this guy sitting on the shelf! I picked up the last one. Why? Because Wet n' Wild has awesome pigmentation for their affordable eyeshadows & this sucker is hard to find so you know I just had to get it.

It's been a while since I've purchased anything from the drugstore so I was hoping that WnW would WOW me with this palette. I can't deny that the pigmentation is awesome. After swatching it, I am not so crazy about it. It's probably because I have so much makeup & I'm sure I have similar colors to these. Oh well. Atleast it didn't cost me a fortune. Any of you own this palette? What are your thoughts on it?
