Product Rave/Review: Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35

Don't forget to enter my blog giveaway! Click here to enter now! Open until January 25, 2012.

There has been so many talk about BB creams & I really was dying to get my hands on one after all the good things I've heard about them. Of course, being in Hawaii it's kind of hard to get my hands on a lot of things. I had a hard time getting my hands on Revlon's Lip Butters for crying out loud so imagine trying to get my hands on some BB cream. Nearly impossible.

Well, Smashbox just made a girls dream come true =) They've recently released a BB cream! *screams in excitement* We will be receiving one as gratis but it still hasn't come in yet so I took a sample home with me just to try it out for a days & I must say I AM IN LOVE! Yall know that I live for my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer but I might like this Smashbox BB cream just a little bit more! *gasps* This specific BB cream comes in 4 shades; fair, light, medium & dark. It oxidizes well into skin & is very easy to blend.

So in case you're wondering what a BB cream is or does, well it does a lot. It's pretty much an "all in one" product. It has great coverage, protects, primes, hydrates & improves skin texture.

Product name: Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35
Purchased at: Sephora stores or sephora.com
Product price: $39

Product claims: This multitasking tinted cream formula with SPF 35 moisturizes, primes, perfects, controls oil, and protects for flawless skin on set and beyond. Formulated with emollients and optical pearl pigments, this BB Cream gives skin a glowing, ethereal look and provides a hydrating veil for the complexion to maintain moisture on the surface of the skin. With its ultra-smoothing finish, it instantly re-texturizes to create a smooth canvas. Especially when worn under foundation, it enhances the wear of makeup for up to eight hours. Ideal even for oily complexions, this expert formula with UVA/UVB protection helps inhibit oil to prevent the complexion from getting shiny throughout the day without the typical chalky matte finish. Smashbox first heard about Asia's hottest beauty craze in the photo studios from makeup artists, who had just been on location, and found it was the best tool to perfect skin on set without all the typical layers of product such as moisturizer, primer, concealer, and foundation which can irritate sensitive skin. This unique formula creates "progressive" coverage, which means you can achieve different levels of coverage depending on how you wear it. Appropriate for all skin types, this product is free of fragrance, dermatologist tested, and non-acnegenic.

Would I re-purchase? Yes.

Final thoughts: This BB cream is super lightweight on the face. It really feels as if I'm not using anything. The coverage is amazing. If you have very little time on your hands to apply makeup or you want something that looks natural but gives good coverage then this product is for you. A little goes a long way. My sample came in a 5 gram jar & I barely touched what was in it. I like to apply this product with a flat foundation brush like MAC's #190 brush. However you can use your fingers if you'd like. So toss out your SPF, primer & foundation because this product has all of that in it. Have you tried this product out yet? If so, what are your thoughts on it? What are your thoughts on BB creams in general?

Damn! I might have to try this sometime. Most BB Creams imported are around like $20-30, but with shipping it can end up being more, so this might be much more worth it than importing. I'm adding this to my list of things to try. ^^

I tweeted almost a week ago that Tarte will be releasing a BB cream as well. Not exactly sure of the name but it's similiar to a BB cream & it's going to be all natural ingredients. Kinda stoked about that one. I will keep you guys posted!

I live in Hawaii too but have gotten used to online ordering. I've ordered Korean bb creams and I love it!! Lately, I've been trying out the Dr. Jart ones that Sephora has out and I still prefer my Korean ones. My nephew (hey, guys can look good, too, right?) likes the smashbox one. Anyways, thanks for the review. I'll look into the Smashbox bb!!

Just bought it today and I LOVE it! Being a mother of a 3 month old and working, I don't have much time to get ready. My face looks amazing!! Can't wait to do my makeup tomorrow morning. It will look two times better in half the time!
